Gobble Gobble!

Top: Lauren Conrad
Ring and Earrings: Forever 21
Bracelet: ASOS

My Thanksgiving consisted of working most of the day, and then going to my Grandma's with family to eat.  It was an entertaining and tasty evening.  This is what I wore.  I get excited about holidays so I planned my outfit in advance.  My family doesn't dress up for holidays very much so I had to pick out something pretty casual.  I chose to wear this pretty Lauren Conrad top.  I am obsessed with the detail on the collar.  That's what sold me on it.  I know I wear a lot of collared blouses but I really can't help it.  They are my weakness.
On my way home from my Grandma's, my family stopped at one of those Christmas light parks, where there are several characters and light arrangements.  Here are some of my favorite ones.  It was hard to take pictures of the moving ones though.

Maroon Speckle Sweater

First, I must say that there are many pictures in this post.  I went to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago to see the trees from all of the countries for the beginning of the holidays, and the new Walt Disney exhibit.  If you haven't been there for this, there are several Christmas trees, each decorated with items from each country.  I just wanted to include them all.  There tree in the center is huge and always has a different ornament theme.  I normally go around this time of year to see it and all of the other trees.  They do a great job of putting you in the holiday spirit.

Sweater: JCPenny
Scarf: Plato's Closet and tagless so I don't know the brand
Boots: Steve Madden
Necklace: Vera Wang (altered)
Pants: Lauren Conrad

I chose to wear this sweater today because it's an easy, effortless clothing item that allows me to leave my coat in the car in cold weather.  It was the perfect piece for a museum day because you stay nice and warm, without all the bulk of a coat.  I bought it because of the color, mainly.  Maroon is a really nice color for fall.  I also really love the multi-colored specks in the yarn.  I have had this necklace for a few months.  It's Vera Wang Princess.  I fell in love with the awesome, detailed picture frame.  It used to have a poodle charm inside, but I don't really like poodles, so I switched it out for a Pegasus.  It's a really unique piece of jewelry that I was not going to pass up.
The rest of these pictures (besides the Christmas tree ones) are from the Walt Disney exhibit.  They are some of my favorite costumes and props from Disney movies.  The first one is from the new version of Alice in Wonderland (with Johnny Depp).  This giant Sleeping Beauty book is from the cartoon.  It's from the beginning of the movie when the story starts, and the book opens.  There were a few more of these from other old cartoons too.  The next prop is from Pirates of the Caribbean.  It's the compass that Captain Jack Sparrow carries.  They also had his costume and the Dead Man's Chest.  These are the crowns from The Princess Diaries film.  Lastly, this is Mary Poppins bag that she carries in the film.  I also saw the spell book from the movie Hocus Pocus, which was awesome.  The last pic showcases some of Walt Disney's awards.  I highly recommend that exhibit if your a Disney fan.

Navy Playsuit

Playsuit: ASOS
Tights: Target
Boots: Go Jane
Hat: Vintage
Rings: vintage and small shop in Bloomington, IN

Nothing I am wearing here is new.  I'm not the type of person to get new clothing and shun the old ones.  However, new isn't always best, but I thing everyone knows that.  I have had this playsuit for about two years.  I thing that it is still one of my favorite clothing items.  It was my first purchase from ASOS.  I have been in love with it ever since I got it.  I wear it in the summer, fall, and spring.  All you have to do is pair it with tights to stay warm or dress it up a little.  Here are some other playsuits from ASOS that I am really loving; the sequin, similar one, and this embellished one, would be great for a holiday party.  I chose to wear it with my vintage boater style hat.  Do you have any clothing items that have been a wardrobe staple for years?

Blustery Breezes

Sweater Cardigan: Daisy Fuentes
Top: Forever 21
Boots: Forever 21
Scarf: Forever 21
Hat: Target
Ring: Gift

When the weather gets chilly I love to bundle up in layers of thick knits.  I get cold very easily, even in the summer, so I always have to prepare for that.  Today I wore this long cardigan with my scarf and hat.  The outfit began with the hat.  I have really been wanting to wear it.  Since it's such a bright flamingo pink I decided to go pretty neutral with everything else, except the scarf.  What I really love about it, besides the uncommon color, is the feather pompom on top.  It was pretty windy and chilly out but I managed to stay warm.  I'm sure you can tell it's windy because my scarf and sweater look a little goofy.

Rings: Bow-Forever 21, Beaded-My own design

It's starting to get really cold out now, if you can't tell from these pictures.  Yesterday was our first small snow.  My favorite item to wear in the cold weather is, of course, a sweater.  This one is from H&M.  I really love to layer in the fall.  It adds warmth and interest to an outfit.  This blouse that I picked up a few days ago by, Vera Wang Princess, is great for that because of the detail on the collar.  I will probably go buy the blue one right after I finish this post.  My boots were a birthday present from my parents, and although I love the way they look, there is something I do not like about them.  They make that clicking noise when I walk on hard floors.  That is something that really bothers me about shoes, and I will be sure to be extra careful when shoe shopping in the future.  They are from Go Jane.  Does that noise bother anybody else, or am I just crazy?
