Jewelry Storage

I know storing jewelry is always an issue for me, especially as my collection grows.  I thought maybe it's an issue for other people too.  Over the years I have changed how I store my jewelry and I think I finally came up with something that works, for the most part.  I wanted to share what I do, and hopefully get some feed back on what other people do too.  I have also started a Pinterest board for jewelry storage if you want to look at some of the ideas I find inspirational here.
I keep a lot of my earrings in these little boxes.  Some of them are vintage and the others were gifts.  I think they are so cute.  I just have a strange love for little boxes.  Earrings are the perfect thing to use them for.  My rings and miscellaneous jewelry goes in my jewelry box.  I repainted it aqua and gold (as you can probably tell).  For my long, dangly earrings, I keep them on this fancy vintage plate.  I want to put them on a small earring holder but I don't have one yet.  I'm working on finding a pretty one.  My bracelets go on this jewelry tree that I "borrowed" from my sister.  I think she got it from Target.  It's the perfect way to store bracelets because if I need to get to one I don't have to remove all of them.  This little shell dish is something that I kind of made.  I found it on the beach and though it would be cute to use for a jewelry holder.  Now that I'm thinking about it I will probably display my pearl earrings in it.  My necklace take up the most space out of everything.  I chose to hang them on individual hooks from my shelf.  This way I can see all of them and they don't get knotted up.  These hooks are really useful.  You can get them at the hardware store.  Lastly, I keep my larger, more special earrings on this candy-like jewelry dish.  I also keep some of my most worn rings here for easy access.
I made this candy-like jewelry dish myself.  I'm not really sure what to call it.  All you have to do to make one is get three pretty plates, of different sizes and some old thread spools.  I used vintage, wooden spools because they are easier to paint.  I painted the spools gold and just glued them between the plates.  The glue that I chose to use it E600.  It's very strong and clear.  If you have any ideas for jewelry storage don't hesitate to let me know.  I'm always looking for new ideas and D.I.Y.s.
