Floral Forever

I know, this post doesn't appear to be about fashion, but it kinda is.  I am sure I have said before that I love flowers, but I really meant to say that I am obsessed with flowers.  Floral has long been my favorite type of fabric print.  My closet has way too many floral patterns.  I got these crazy lovely flowers from the European Market yesterday and they are a good source of fashion inspiration.  The colors and shapes of the petals are so vivid and pretty.  I know floral is typically a spring/summer topic but I think you can wear floral in the fall too.  I'm not sure what type of flowers these are so if you know, please let me know too.  Thanks!

Thinking of Fall

11:40:00 PM Andrea Ryan 0 Comments

Just thinking about fall and all it's beauty.  I made this collage/mood board for fall items.  They are just from all over.  I hate that I am excited about fall because I really do hate winter, and the arrival of fall means winter is on the way.  What I am most excited about for fall are sweaters! I would say scarves, but they tend to make me look shorter because they chop off my neck.  I am also getting excited for Halloween, even though last year I decided I don't care about Halloween anymore.  I guess I changed my mind.  My birthday is also near Halloween and I am a little excited about that.  What do you love most about fall?

Lace in the Forest

Scarf/Turban: Vintage
Dress: Amber Blue
Jacket: Rodarte
Boots: Naturalizer

Today is a super nice day.  It's really warm and sunny, the perfect early fall day.  I wore this cute white lace dress, with pink lining, by Amber Blue.  I decided to wear my Rodarte denim jacket over the top.  What I love about this jacket is that there is lots of braided trim on the bottom, and the shoulders.  It just adds an element of interest to a simple style.  This beautiful silk scarf is vintage.  I love how versatile silk scarves are.  You can tie them around your neck like I did here, or keep it rolled up and tie it around your neck.  You can also put them in your hair in several ways.  I love the turban headband look, so I did that too.  Comment and let me know if you have any other ideas of how to wear silk scarves.

Junk to Jewelry

Sparkle Top: Forever 21

The other day I was feeling kind of crafty so I decided to experiment with jewelry making.  For some weird reason I love spray painting things gold.  Haha!  It't just really satisfying.  Spray paint is fun to paint with because I love how evenly it comes out, and gold is just awesome.  I found some junk around my room.  This included broken jewelry, rhinestones, flowers, a button, and cabochon flowers.  I hadn't previously decided what I was going to make.  My plan was to not plan.  I ended up using some one the pieces and decided to make this necklace.  I glued them on leather and cut around them.  Then I attached the gold chain and clasp.  This is the end result and I am pretty happy with it.

Black Baroque

Top: H&M
Skirt: Forever 21
Sandals: Urban Outfitters
Sunglasses: Asos

These sunglasses are one of my favorite pairs.  They have this fancy, baroque embellishments on the sides.  I got them at the beginning of the summer but I haven't worn them much because they feel more like fall/winter sunglasses, rather than summer.  I bought them from Asos.  I am excited to wear them more from now onward.  I always find that I need sunglasses in the fall and winter to block the cold rain and wind from my eyes, and for the occasional sunlight.
My top is from H&M.  It is a very unique top because it's made from velvet but the baroque-style design is crushed in.  I just think it's so cool.  I chose to wear it with my black faux leather skirt from Forever 21.  I also came across this flower.  It's HUGE! It's as big as my head.

Rose Gold Leather Look

Top: Charolette Russe
Necklace: My own design
Jeans: JCPenny
Sandals and Bangle: Forever 21

First off, I have to say that I am really starting to love rose gold.  I am new to the concept because normally only jewelry comes in this color and I don't often buy real jewelry.  It seem like rose gold is having a moment right now.  I came across this top and I instantly though "modern, futuristic, high-fashion, why not."  Of course, the "why not" was enough to make me buy it.  It's surprisingly really comfortable.  I actually made this chain necklace to wear with this top.  I paired my metallic gold sandals from forever 21 with this outfit because they are made from a very similar faux leather.

Geometric

Top: Rock and Republic (altered)
Shorts and Sandals: Forever 21
Ring: Asos
Necklace: My own design

The geometric/kaleidoscope pattern is so interesting to me.  There is so much going on, but of course in a good way.  This top by Rock and Republic is just so colorful.  I love the way that within the kaleidoscope pattern there are little shapes that look like rhinestones.  I made this necklace a few months ago.  I have had this stone since I was really young.  I got it on vacation somewhere, but I can't recall where.  I have always been entranced by the rainbow flecks of color.  Turning it into a necklace was the perfect way to make use of such a pretty stone.
