Blue Floral Pants

It seems like there is no end in sight for winter.  It just keeps snowing more and more.  This week temperatures are supposed to be below zero.  I'm trying to just ignore it though.  While I wait for this cold spell to end I am considering wearing more floral.  Floral in winter is seemingly mixed up, but it keeps my mood more positive.  I've had these pants for a while, but they add a little bit of interest to this plain top.  I would say it converts a potentially boring outfit into a somewhat interesting one.

Baroque Embroidery

Blazer: Vintage
Blouse: Forever 21
Jeans: Bisou Bisou
Boots: Steve Madden
Earrings, Ring, and Purse: Forever 21

I got these jeans for Christmas and I love them.  They are embroidered with gold baroque style swirls down both sides.  I threw this outfit together pretty quickly today.  I chose to pair my jeans with this vintage tweed blazer.  This white blouse underneath adds a little bit more visual interest, with the laser-cut collar.   Laser-cut details and embroidery are two of my favorite clothing details.  Anything with either of them automatically draws my attention.  This outfit was perfect for a just above freezing winter day.

Winter Warmth

Coat: Target
Boots: Steve Madden
Scarf: Thrifted
Mittens: Target

Winter is really starting to get on my nerves.  I'm not the type of person that can deal with being cold.  Too hot is fine, but cold is unacceptable.  Even in other seasons, I'm usually cold.  This leads to me going to great lengths to stay warm.  I layer tights under pants, tops under tops, coats under coats (sometimes).  I got this coat from Target a few months ago and I am in love with it.  Not only is it super warm, but it's really cute.  The fabric is pretty unique, which is something I look for in coats.  Also, the hood is also a cowl neck.  It's like having a build in scarf that's also a hood.  I know my mittens don't match my coat, but I had to wear mittens and I do not currently have any that match.  These are from Target and I really love the colors.  Also, I'm a big fan of some pom poms on mittens.  I feel like I am the only person that wears mittens.  They just keep my hands so much warmer than gloves.  Does anybody else actually use them?

Leopard Print

Coat: Forever 21
Purse: Forever 21
Boots: Forever 21, again
Mittens: Unsure

Once again, almost everything I'm wearing today is from Forever 21.  It's just so easy to go there and find exactly what you want.  I got this coat and purse for Christmas.  I have always liked patterned coats.  I often go back and forth on my feelings of animal prints.  However, right now I am drawn to leopard print.  I love this jacket because it's a bit unexpected.  You don't see leopard coats on everyone.  This one is perfect because the style is like an over-sized blazer, but the fabric feels like a peacoat.  Today I went to the lighthouse again to see if it was covered in ice from the snowstorm we recently got.  It is, but not as much as I was hoping.  I also have to add that I am sure you have noticed I haven't posted a lot lately.  That's solely because of winter.  I hate going out in the cold.  Also, sorry about that spot in the upper corner of my pics.  There is a hair or something stuck in my lens.  >:(
