Dress: My own design
Jacket: Kohl's (crazy, huh?!)
Boots: Target

I've never really been a fan of military-style fashion in the past but when it's something as beautiful as this jacket, it's another story.  I came across this jacket a few years ago at Kohl's (gasp!) and fell in love with all of the detail on the sleeves, hem, and collar.  It was one of those situations that I often come across where the item is marked down to an incredible price, and there were several in my size.  That happens to me a lot at department stores because people who aren't interested in fashion pass over all of the cool stuff, leaving it for me to find.  They are normally super cheap too!  In addition to finding it so cheap, it's the prettiest military-inspired jacket I have ever seen.  For the dress, I made it myself out of vintage fabric.  It's baby doll style, but hard to tell in this post.   I tried to dye the fabric but it wouldn't hold the dye.  I was thinking about doing something really abnormal to it, like painting it.  What do you think? Please let me know if you have any ideas.  Or, should I just keep it beige?

Easter Weekend

Dress: Topshop
Boots: Forever 21
Headband: Made myself
Rings: Forever 21

This is what I wore on Easter this year, my high-low dress from Topshop.  I think high-low dresses always need to be paired with some sort of heel.  They don't look right with anything else.  I think most people agree on this.  I wore my heeled combat boots from Forever 21.  I know it's kind of hard to tell in these pictures, sorry.  I was in a rush and didn't have much time to do this post.  Easter is normally a very busy holiday for me.  I always have to go to church and my Grandma's house.  This year I also went kayaking at the beach, to visit my Great-Grandma in the nursing home, and to my boyfriend's house.  Plus, I had to finish sewing my sister's prom dress.  It was a very busy but pleasant weekend.

Shoes: Charming Charlie's
Jeans: JCPenny
Top: Lauren Conrad
Ring: my own creation

Happy Spring! It's Easter weekend and I have been incredibly busy working on my sister's Prom dress.  I took some time out to work on this post.  This top is by Lauren Conrad.  I've had it for a while, but have never worn it for some strange, unknown reason.  I guess I just forgot about it.  I think it is absolutely beautiful.  I love the way the lace makes up the whole top portion of the shirt.  It's also surprisingly comfortable.  Even though this top its't in stores anymore, I have seen many similar options at other stores.  So, if you come across a similar top, I suggest you try it on.

Watercolor Floral

Top: Designed myself
Shorts: Thrifted

My overwhelming obsession with floral has led me to try something different.  I decided to make this crop top with my own design on it.  I sorted out a color scheme I want to stick to, and dyed a mirror print of watercolor flowers.  I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I am really happy with the end result.  I'm considering a new venture of designing similar pieces for my Etsy shop.  I'm hoping to start on that soon (after I finish designing my sister's prom dress).  The process if very time consuming but I'm hoping it all works out.

Oui

Skirt: Ebay
Top: Lauren Conrad
Shoes: H&M
Tights: Target
Over-the-knee socks: Forever 21
Bowtie: Thrifted
 Necklace: Forever 21
It's been a while since I have been able to wear a skirt.  The weather has been pretty chilly, for the most part. Aside from yesterday, it's been mostly 40s.  I had to wear tights and over-the-knee socks, though.  It was actually the perfect day to wear the knee socks because they kept me warm enough.  I bought them in the Fall but have not actually worn them until Spring because it was just too cold.  In case you can't read my necklace, it says "oui."  It's not my typical style, but I really liked it for some reason.
