Statement necklaces are best worn with a simple outfit, in my opinion.  If you are wearing a complicated outfit with layers or patterns, sometimes adding a statement necklace can be too much.  You should let the necklace make the statement.  I actually found this one at Walmart.  If you have been there at all this summer, you may have seen the giant fixture with tons beautiful, sparkly necklaces.  I was beyond shocked when I stumbled upon them at the beginning of summer.  I'm not a fan of Walmart by any means and often try to avoid going there, but I'm not a snob either.  If I passed up the opportunity to buy some of these necklaces (they were only $10) just because they were from Walmart, it would have been a mistake.

Textured Shorts

Shorts: Sheinside
Top: Old Navy
Shoes: GoJane
Purse: Expressions NYC
Necklace and Bracelet: Forever 21

I love shorts.  When I was younger I pretty much only wore jean shorts and overalls, but as I've grown, I have come to realize that there are many more options.  Nowadays, I really prefer shorts that aren't denim because they are normally more unique and a bit more fashion-forward.  I found these at Sheinside.  I love the messy floral print and texture.  I have had this red shirt from Old Navy for a few years.  I don't have many red options to choose from, so it worked.

Cropped Top: Forever 21
Skirt: Forever 21
Purse: Forever 21
Sandals: Modcloth
Necklace: Charming Charlie

I know, this outfit includes a lot from Forever 21, but I bought the skirt and top to wear together.  My purse just happened to be from F21, but it matches.  I went shopping at a large mall about an hour from my house last Sunday, and this is what I wore.  The plan was to go to Trader Joe's and H&M.  There are closer locations of both of these stores but they are less convenient to get to.  While I was at the mall I stopped by the Teen Vogue Back to School Saturdays event.  I was pretty surprised at how boring it was.  There was a band I had never heard of and a few stands set up that were trying to sell merchandise.  There was nothing fashion related going on.  Basically, if you were considering going it's only worth it if you like the band performing.

Ted Baker Swim

4:09:00 PM Andrea Ryan 3 Comments

Swimsuit: Ted Baker via ASOS
Pretzel Float: Ebay
Sunglasses: Betsey Johnson

When I was looking for a new swimsuit at the beginning of summer I wasn't sure what brand to get.  I knew I wanted something that actually fits, and it had to be pretty.  I get a lot of my suits from Target, so I'm not used to spending a lot.  Cheap suits can be pretty and unique but they never fit well.  This Ted Baker swimsuit fits perfectly.  My favorite part is probably the scallops.  I'm a sucker for unique swimwear.  I get very tired of seeing the same old styles.  Aside from the beautiful fabric and style, there are many special touches that are included in this designer swimsuit.  It came on little Ted Baker hangers.  There is a "T" and a "B" one the end of each string that ties around the neck.  The rose gold clasp is pretty unique too.  After shopping through more of The recent Ted Baker collections, I think it's safe to say that I am a big fan.
I also have to add that I saw these pretzels at Urban Outfitters, but found them cheaper on Ebay.   They have donuts too.  I might get that one next summer.  I'm a weirdo when it comes to inflatable pool toys.

You Are Not Alone

Top: You Are Not Alone
Skirt: Forever 21
Sandals: Modcloth
Ring: Vintage
Phone Pouch: Souvenir from Mackinac Island, Michigan

One of my favorite details of clothing is embroidery.  I probably talk about it too much, but it's just really pretty.  I got this top recently and I have already decided it is one of my favorites.  It's by You Are Not Alone, via T.J.Maxx.  I am in love with the arrangement of flowers and designs that are embroidered on it.  It has little cut-outs between some of the petal designs.  I don't really know what else to say about it except that it's perfect.  Also, I just found this park about five minutes from my house.  From the road it just looks like a field, but it really has paths going throughout it.  It's just a beautiful field of flowers.  How could I have missed this?

Green Petal Skort

Skort: Sheinside
Top: thrifted
Sandals: Target
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters
Purse: Urban Outfitters

Wearing a skort reminds me of elementary school.  Although, this one is nothing like the ones I used to wear.  It's kind of nostalgic, but it also feels like a brand new concept.  Nowadays, there is a huge abundance of perfect skorts in stores.  I got this one from Sheinside last week.  Aside from the style being adorable, I was really drawn to the color.  I don't own a lot of green, so it feels fresh.
