Hey Guys!  I got this top somewhat recently (a couple weeks ago).  I made my first purchase from Dorothy Perkins.  I bought two shirts, shorts, and the pom pom key chain.  I will be showing you the other things soon.  I have always seen Dorothy Perkins merchandise come up on Polyvore, but never thought to buy anything.  I love a lot of their clothes.  Somehow I ended up on the site a few weeks ago and couldn't pass up these items, so I had to buy them.  I am really happy with everything I bought.  I'm sure I will be getting more in the future because a lot of their stuff is really nice.

Sperry X Gray Malin

Boat shoes: Sperry X Gray Malin
Top: Topshop
Shorts: Target

I became a fan of Gray Malin's photography somewhat recently.  I just feel like his work is simple and beautiful, but fully encompasses everything I stand for.  I love that he takes so many bright and colorful pictures of beaches all over the world.  His photos are really fun too.  I also love that many of them are from an aerial perspective.  It's just refreshing.  Someday, I will own some of his prints.  Until I can afford them, I will wear these.  Sperry partnered with Gray Malin to design a couple pairs of shoes.  These are my favorite because they have the aerial perspective of people at the beach, but they are also the typical boat shoe.  The reason I love Sperry isn't for the same reason as many other people.  I know they have that preppy, trendy stereotype.  However, I actually use them on my boat.  They are great for boating and keep you from slipping around.  This is what boat shoes are meant for.  I grew up with a boat and my family has alway had one, so for me boat shoes mean something other than "cute shoes."
I wanted to blog these while on my boat but the weather is getting colder.  I don't know if I will be able to go on my boat again this summer, so I am talking about them now.  I just wanted to wear something simple with these shoes.  I wanted the shoes to stand out.  I stopped by the beach a few days ago and hiked a short trail by the marsh.
I also decided that I will be linking many more pages to my blog of whatever I am talking about.  If something I'm wearing is still for sale, I will link it.  However, usually by the time I get around to blogging about something it is no longer for sale.  That's why I never bothered before.

Top: DealSale
Skirt: DealSale
Tights: Target
Shoes: Wanted

I am sorry to say that Summer is officially over.  This is my first time I've worn tights since Spring, even though it's a little warm out still.  I feel like they were a necessity with this outfit.  I got the skirt and sweatshirt from DealSale.  I did a post a little while ago about my DealSale Wishlist and these are the items I ended up getting.  I decided to wear them together, because I think they go.  I am in love with the sweatshirt.  It's really simple, has a nice fit, and I love the design.  I can't wait to wear it during these upcoming cold months.  I love the floral design on the skirt.  I wasn't expecting it to be this fabric, but I think it would be good to wear for a specific occasion.  You can download the DealSale app very easily on your smart phone, and just shop from there.  You can just scroll through the first page or search for a specific item.  Just check out the app Here!

Red Romper

Romper: Akira Chicago (altered)
Sunglasses: ZeroUV
Sandals: Forever 21
Purse: H&M
Pom Pom Keychain: Dorothy Perkins
Jewelry: Forever 21

I got this romper about a year ago from Akira.  If you aren't from the Chicago area, you may have never heard of Akira.  Here is their site if you want to check it out.  Anyway, I had a chance to wear it this week when I went to New Buffalo, Michigan for the day.  I had to alter it and I just kept putting it off.  Finally I got it done though.  I do that far too often.  I will buy something that needs to be altered and take way too long to do it.
I ended up finding a new favorite restaurant.  There is this amazingly delicous Italian restaurant that has really pretty outdoor seating.  It's called Brewster's.  Then we went to The Stray Dog for some drinks.  Next, we headed to the beach, where there were literally hundreds of seagulls.  They were everywhere.  I took a short video and posted it on my Instagram page.  Then we got ice cream from Oink's.  It was a good day all around.

Ultimate Vegas Outfit

Vegas is a place that I have been aspiring to go back to soon.  I went there for the first time with my family some time around my early High School years.  I've actually been thinking about going back soon, but there are a lot of places on my list right now.  I just like to think about all the lights, the glam, bright colors, and excitement.  I just feel like I would appreciate it more today, then I did when I was younger.  Although, I did think it was really exciting back then.  I'm not the type of person to gamble and drink a ton.  I can't picture myself ever gambling more than $5.  I know there are a lot of other appeals of Vegas though.  I remember walking through all the hotels and being really impressed.  Last time I stayed at the Flamingo.  I remember one hotel that stuck out in my mind was Caesars Palace.  I think I would stay there if I went back.  If you are going to vegas soon you can use this site to plan: Las Vegas Hotels.
I planned some outfits out that I would wear if I were staying at Caesars Palace.  I would wear this first outfit just to walk around the hotel and do some exploring.  First, I would check out all of the amazing architecture, made to look like something straight out of Italy.  I would hang out near the pool and fountains.  Then I would do some shopping in the Forum Shops.  There are tons of stores there.  I remember going to them the first time I went to Vegas.  That was my very first experience going into an Express store.  I remember buying a floral camisole.  I'd like to go back to them and see how they have changed.

 Skirt: Peter Pilotto for Target
Top: Sheinside
Shoes: Wanted
Purse: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Forever 21

This next outfit is a bit fancier.  I would save it for a dressy occasion like a fancy dinner or a show.  Honestly, I would probably wear this to an occasion that isn't so fancy.  I'm always excited to get dressed up and I look for every occasion to do so.  I know there are tons of shows happening around Vegas every night, and tons of restaurants too.  I would bring this dress because it's my favorite one.  I bought it for the cruise I went on last January and I haven't had another chance to wear it.  Here is a link to that post, if you want to check it out.

Banana Suit

Swimsuit: Modcloth
Sandals: Modcloth
Sunglasses: Zero UV

I've always been a fan of high waist swimsuits.  I've bought three of them in the past, but never wore them because they just didn't fit right.  I realized that that's because they don't come to my natural waist.  They hit me just below the belly button.  Those bottoms just look awkward.  I shopped around a lot this summer, looking for the perfect high waist swimsuit.  I was really frustrated, trying to find a pair of bottoms that actually came to the waist.  Most stores don't sell them.  I feel like they try to play it safe by making "high waist" bottoms that go about an inch below the belly button.  They just end up looking stupid and being unwearable because they don't fit into any category.  I finally found the perfect suit at Modcloth.  I was a bit nervous to buy them online because I didn't want to make the same mistake I made in the past.  I looked at the picture of the model and assumed that she was wearing a size Small.  That's the size I wear and my torso is much shorter than a model's.  I figured if the bottoms came to the models waist, they were sure to come up to mine.  Modcloth is a really good place to find high waist swimsuits because they have a lot of options in the summer.  I also love the banana print on this suit.  I don't think I will ever find a similar swimsuit in my life.

Ice Cream Stripes

Dress: Lauren Conrad
Purse: Kate Spade
Sunglasses: Zero UV
Sandals: Modcloth
All Jewelry: Forever 21

I've had this dress for a while.  It's one of my go-to casual dresses.   I feel like it's kind of timeless.  It's really simple and I'm sure I will be able to wear it for years.  That's the good thing about timeless fashion, rather than only buying trends.  Although, that's not the reason that I bought it.  I was drawn to the color scheme.  I just think the colors are really pretty and go well together.
On Labor Day I went to my favorite local ice-cream shop.  It's incredibly delicious and cute.  They make their own ice-cream and have about a million flavors.  I don't get to go there often enough so we made a point to go there on Monday.  I hope everybody had a good Labor Day weekend!
