A Year of Outfits

4:15:00 PM Andrea Ryan 6 Comments

Happy New Years! This year I thought it would be fun to put together a post that includes every outfit from the past year.  These outfits span from last New Year, up to my newest Christmas one.  They aren't in any specific order.  Please excuse some of my dumb facial expressions...

This year, I will be celebrating the new year in California.  January first is also me and my boyfriend's 6 year anniversary! I am really excited for all of the adventures that are ahead.  I probably won't bother to make a New Year's resolution because I never stick to it.  I can't even remember what mine was from last year.

Merry and Bright

Dress: Plato's Closet (no label inside)
Shoes: Restricted

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!  I decided to do a post to sum up my holiday.  This year for Christmas Eve I went to my grandma's house, like I do every year.  It was a pretty average Christmas Eve.  I made sugar cookies this year to bring along.  I am pretty happy with how they turned out.  On Christmas morning I went to my boyfriend's house and celebrated with his family.  My family went on vacation and left super early Christmas morning, so I didn't see them.  I spent a lot of Christmas by myself because my boyfriend had to work at 1:30.  It wasn't bad though because I just watched a Christmas movie and built a gingerbread house.  Here are some of my most photogenic Christmas gifts that I received.  They are also some of my favorite.  How did you guys celebrate your holiday?

Boots: Kohl's
Earrings: Macy's
Pom Pom Keychains: Pink-H&M, White-Dorothy Perkins

This week has been super busy.  Today I went Christmas shopping for the third time this week.  I quickly stopped at one of my favorite parks on the way to show you my outfit.   I bought this top on cyber monday.  I love the marble print trend that is happening right now.  I had been looking for something marble print that was affordable and wearable.  Sometimes it is hard to find exactly what you are looking for.  Luckily, I came across this top at Forever 21.  I still have so much to do before Christmas (like everyone else who celebrates it).  I am also going on a trip to southern California right after Christmas, so I have a lot of packing and preparing.  I will do several blog posts from that trip, so keep an eye out!

Sequin Scalloped Shorts

Boots: Steve Madden
Coat: Forever 21

My favorite aspect of this outfit is the shorts from Dorothy Perkins.  Although, i've had them since late summer and they are now sold out of this color, they do still sell them in black.  They are just totally my style.  I always go for things that are visually interesting.  The sequin flowers are beautiful.  Also, they are scalloped!  I'm sure i've mentioned my obsession with scallops before.  I was considering wearing them on New Years but instead I picked out a romper to wear.  I think they would be really cute to wear for a festive holiday outfit, especially paired with this sweater.  Unfortunately, I need to alter them because they are a bit too big.

Brick Red

Cardigan: Forever 21 (out of this color)
Top: Topshop
Skirt: Forever 21
Boots: Steve Madden
Purse: Olivia and Joy
Fleece Lined Tights: Christmas gift (find them anywhere basically)
Necklace: Forever 21

Hi guys! I went shopping a few weeks ago and got this cardigan.  I am always in need of new cardigans because I wear them all the time.  This one attracted me because of the unique color.  It's sort of brick red, but also kind of brown.  It's sold out in this color though.  They do still have blue, which I also love.  I feel like my styling abilities are beginning to become a bit predictable.  This is just an example of one of my typical outfits.  Let me know what you guys think.  I had a really fun day today though.  I hung out with my boyfriend all day.  I lightened my hair (it's a work in progress), went out for lunch, went ice-skating, and did some Christmas shopping.

Brocade Origami Skirt

Skirt: Forever 21 (similar)
Top: Forever 21
Coat: Forever 21
Boots: Go Jane

What makes this skirt so cool is the directional pleats, they give it this origami look. I also love the fact that it's make from brocade fabric.  Brocade is one of my favorite fabrics! In college I designed an entire collection based on brocades.  This outfit would obviously be really good for Christmas.  I bought all of these items last winter, but didn't get a chance to blog about them.
