Pink Ruffles

I found this top at Zara when I went back to Chicago a few weeks ago.  I love the style and color.  Ruffles are really my style because they are super feminine.  This top is nice because it's a rib knit so it's super form fitting and comfortable.  I wore it with this denim skirt from H&M.  I have been in need of a denim skirt for a really long time.  I can't remember the last one I owned.  I got this one in the sale section a few months ago and it was so worth the price!
These photos were taken at a park in Signal Hill.  I love this little park because it's a nice peaceful place that is above the rest of the city.  It's a nice spot to watch the sunset (other than the beach).  If you ever visit the Long Beach area you should stop by Signal Hill.

VII Code Eye Mask + Eye Spray

VII code eye mask
Eye mask and eye spray

Hello again! In this post I am talking about the VII Code Oxygen Eye Mask and the Oxygen Hydrating Eye Spray.  I have already reviewed the eye mask in the past and loved it.  This time I am   testing out the eye spray and the eye mask that is aimed at aiding with dark circles.
If you recall in my other post, I mentioned how I have a lot of under-eye wrinkles and dark circles.  Both of those are still true.  I would say that the wrinkles are maybe even a bit worse.  Since moving to California I have been getting a lot more wrinkles because of the sun.  I have noticed this just over the past year.  I go outside about the same amount as I used to except in the winter I am out much more now.  Also, there are more sunny days.  I guess I am just bound to get more wrinkles.  The under-eye darkness is still an issue for me as well, because I think it is inherited.
I have been testing out both of these products for several weeks.  They both make my skin feel super soft.  For the eye spray, as soon as it soaks in, it feels very smooth.  It feels like it wakes your skin up.  My skin just feels very rejuvenated.  It's so nice.  I've never tried an eye spray before, so I didn't really know what to expect.  It is made to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and maintain skin moisture.  I think it really does both to some degree.  It's really easy to use.  You simply mist your face around the eye area and pat it in with your fingers.
As for the eye masks, they are just as nice as I remembered.  I can't tell much of a difference with my dark eye circles but it seems to help a little.  I'll take what I can get.  As far as wrinkles, there is a noticeable difference when I use them.  I sleep with them on overnight for 8 hours so it's really easy to wear them.  The main ingredients that are beneficial for your skin are grapeseed oil, white tea, and seaweed.  I know all of these are really good for your skin.  Let me know if you have ever tried these products or an eye mask in general, and what you think.

Vintage Inspired Dresses

2:02:00 PM Andrea Ryan 3 Comments

Who doesn't love cute summer dresses?  Zapaka has really cute dresses and accessories that are vintage inspired.  They would be perfect for weddings or fun summer parties.  They seem to be vintage inspire, but with a modern twist.  They don't feel dated.  I've always love a cute vintage style for as long as I can remember.  Many of the dresses include details like lace, flowers, bows, and pearls. These are all of my favorite fashion elements, if you haven't been able to tell.  There are casual and more formal options.  They come in a large variety of patterns and designs.  I much say, there is a large variety of floral options, which I love so much!
I love these three items the most.  The first one is floral and I have a weakness for floral.  The style is casual enough that you could wear it as an everyday dress or dress it up.  I love this white dress as well.  If you are having a laid back wedding, it would make a super pretty wedding dress.  I just think it is beautiful, and so unique.  You could also just wear it to a dressy event.  Since it's white, I think it would be best to wear it in the summertime or spring.  Lastly, this purse is really beautiful.  The embellishment looks so ornate.  It's very original and looks like something you could find in a vintage shop.

We spent today (Saturday) at 1000 Steps Beach in Laguna.  Since it's getting later into the summer, the weather is actually starting to get warmer.  We can finally spend some serious time at the beach.  I am seriously in love with Laguna.  I always find myself wanting to go back whenever we have spare time.  I think if I could live anywhere in California, I'd probably live there.   We were looking for a different beach to visit and came across this one on Google Maps.  It's super nice and really huge.  The cliffs that surround it are really tall as well.  Of course this means you have to go down about a million stairs to get there.  It was fine though because it's really unique.  We arrived at about 10am and saw a large pod of dolphins fishing off the coast.  I swear every time I go to Laguna or Newport, I see dolphins!
I wore my new t-shirt from Zara.  I got it when I went back to the midwest for my wedding reception.  It's from Chicago (which is way better than all of the ones here).  It has embroidered astrological signs on it.  I got a size large because it was the last one so I just tie it up in the front.  I paired it with this denim skirt.  Basically, this outfit is the perfect cute/casual summer outfit.

Our Wedding Reception

4:08:00 PM Andrea Ryan 0 Comments

We had our wedding reception a few weeks ago (June 29th).  It was at the Friendship Botanic Gardens in Michigan City, IN.  The date and location of this party were actually the first things we planned for our wedding events.  We booked the venue before we even knew what we were doing for our ceremony.  I had always known what style I wanted and Eddie was pretty easy going and agreed he wanted an outdoor, unique event.  We decided on this place because it's a vast garden with a pond that you can explore, that also allows dogs.  I wanted my family's dog to be there.  If you haven't seen my post about our ceremony, find that HERE.
As far as style, we went for a kind of whimsical/boho, garden theme.  We had a photo booth back drop set up for pictures.  That's the trellis-style thing in some of the photos.  My dad made it. The flowers are tissue paper and our hashtag was #ohhappyryans.  We had a subtile nod to our engagement in Paris, with the French macarons.  There were also some flamingos scattered around, because why not? For our welcome sign we had two lawn flamingos that held a sign.  Our cake toppers were also flamingos.  I made the cake myself because I am too picky and didn't want to pay a ton for a cake.  For food, we had the Rolling Stonebaker food truck.  It's a pizza food truck.  It served buffet-style pizza.  Luckily the food was super tasty.  We also had an open bar.  That almost didn't happen but we managed to make it work.  I am so glad we had an open bar because it made the event so much more fun.  My favorite part was probably the conga line.  That is one thing that I have alway wanted at my wedding.  They are just so fun and goofy.  The weather was honestly perfect.  Because it was outdoor, we knew there was a chance it might rain or storm.  I'm just going to say that I am a strong believer in the law of attraction.
As far as things going wrong, I wouldn't say much did.  It was almost perfect but looking back I am beginning to feel really bummed because I didn't get enough pictures, or the kind that I wanted.  that's my own fault.  I should have made more of an effort to get the photos I wanted, assigned that task to somebody, or hired a photographer.  We specifically bought a camera for this event and hardly even used it.  A lot of the reason was because we were so rushed setting up and getting ready.  The venue provided the tables and chairs but gave them to us dirty so they had to be wiped down one at a time.  Because of that, a lot of the decor didn't get properly set up.  We bought giant yard games and photo booth props that nobody touched.  The tables and decor wasn't exactly how it was supposed to be.  Some of the decor didn't get used for what I bought it for.  I was all just super rushed.  It looked cute in the end, but now quite right.  I don't think guests noticed, probably just me.  The place we had planned on getting flowers also fell through at the last minute.  We were going to get them from a flower farm but they didn't grow because there was too much rain.  The day before we had to run around to every grocery store looking for flowers.  Most of them didn't have many options.  We drove to the nearest Trader Joe's which was an hour away.  Another thing that I wasn't too happy with was the lack of dancing.  People kept changing the music around and nobody really danced.  I don't want to dwell on negative aspects but I am a bit of a perfectionist.

4th of July in the OC

ROMPER: Asos  |  PURSE: Coach (gift)  |  SUNGLASSES: Zero U.V.  |  SANDALS: T.J. Maxx
Happy 4th of July again! This year my husband and I spent the holiday in Orange County.  We went to the beach in Laguna pretty early.  We spent a few hours in the sun.  We were sitting in the sand when the California earthquake struck and we felt a few jolts.  That was the largest one that we had felt (until now while I'm writing this post, we had another large one).  Then we went home, made some turkey burgers, and ate apple pie.  After that we went to see fireworks in Huntington Beach.  The fireworks were pretty good but the grand finale was really amazing.  I also tried my first churro.  I'm not a huge fan but I had been wanting to try one.  It was a really great 4th of July.
This is what I wore this year.  It is a romper that I bought for my honeymoon.  It just so happened to be red and seemed super appropriate.  I love it so much.  the style is super cute and it's very comfortable.  Sorry, it is no longer available but it is from Asos.
